CAROLYNNE FROMME
After Sandy
2013
Acrylic On Canvas
After hurricane Sandy the inhabitants of Manhattan were warned to stay indoors. This painting portrays a view of Times Square, seemingly a ghost town with miraculous lights that night. The luminosity of these lights played on the wet streets below unopposed with cars and people. The formidably pink sky details the torment of history's worst nightmare passing through town that day.

This is currently on exhibit at the National Academy.
