Today it seems that spontaneous impulsive creativity is the last thing on an art schools mind. Artists have been trained to think about their work in relation to the work of others. In this context they decide whether it is to use theoretical texts as a launchpad for producing work or responding to the work of other artists or the current trends in a visual culture. I like to start from a spontaneous place. It comes natural and I don't need to analyze it, or try to situate it with what is happening with contemporary art. It just is.
